Description

The film A Botched Affair will be shot primarily in the United States Virgin Islands, delivering a cinematic quality that rivals films with budgets three times greater. All filming locations on St. Croix have been secured, and the Caribbean Community Theater (CCT) will expertly handle the casting of local talent. With a robust history of producing three local plays yearly for the past 30 years, the CCT is well-equipped to cast Virgin Island actors who genuinely reflect the region's essence. It's paramount that these actors possess authentic Caribbean accents. The lead character, Dajah, will be selected from Los Angeles. Principal photography will commence in April 2026, and our festival campaign is set to launch in December 2026.

David Massey and Angela Gibbs, our talented directors, bring invaluable expertise that will elevate the film's overall quality. Gibbs is a specialized acting coach renowned for her ability to guide actors portraying iconic figures, ensuring powerful and memorable performances. She will leverage her extensive industry connections to cast well-known actors for our Los Angeles roles. Massey, an Oscar nominee and a former sportscaster and radio personality from the Virgin Islands, has already successfully directed two films in the territory. His established reputation will allow us to produce this film on a modest budget without compromising on quality.

Cinematographer Keith Smith is set to bring his extensive experience to the project, having filmed three productions in the Caribbean, including the Baths in the British Virgin Islands. With a portfolio that includes more than 40 films and television shows, Smith will capture striking visuals that will undoubtedly attract interest from studios and streaming platforms eager to secure an acquisition deal.
